Sharpen Your Minds By Learning Foreign Languages

London :- Learning foreign languages improves the elasticity of our brain and its ability to encode information, a recent study shows.
The study states that more you learn foreign languages, the more effective the brain reacts and processes the data stored in the course of learning.
The researchers conducted experiments with 22 students (10 men and 12 women), where the electrical brain activitywas measured by EEG (electroencephalogram).
Subjects had electrodes placed on the head and then the recordings of different words were heard in their mother tongue and also in foreign languages.
When known or unknown words appeared, changes in brain activity were monitored and researchers focused mainly on the speed at which the brain readjusted its activity for the treatment of unknown words.
The experiment showed that electrical brain activity of the participants who already know some foreign language, was higher.
“The more languages someone burned, the fastest network of neurons was created that encodes information about the new words a result, these new data stimulates brain physiology. – Charging the mind with more knowledge increases its elasticity,” Yuriy said Shtyrov, a researcher at the University of Helsinki, in the study published in the journal Scientific Reports.
“When we have a better understanding of the principles of the creation and strengthening of neural networks, we are able to take advantage of these mechanisms that accelerate and improve the learning process,” he added Shtyrov.
